 ABOUT ME: 

Amber Flame is an award-winning writer, teacher, and performer, as well as a singer and composer for her band, Last of the RedHot Mamas. A member of Seattle Poetry Slam's 2012 and 2013 national slam team, and their 2013 Individual World Poetry Slam representative, Amber Flame recently moved to the Bay Area and competed to become Oakland Slam's 2014 Women of the World Poetry Slam representative. Flame's original writing and music is performed regularly, from slam and literary to a diverse number of theatrical, cabaret, queer and POC stages. Her work speaks on issues ranging from racial, gender and sexual identity to elements of fairytale, fantasy, spirituality and belief. Last of the RedHot Mamas is a collaborative band created by poet and singer Amber Flame. this ensemble is truly malleable; able to stretch from a one woman show to a group of up to ten musicians, Last of the RedHot Mamas weaves lyrical poetry and soul based blues with instrumental and vocal grooves.
